Re: Summer £20 million striker
We will prob go up from 77m to 125-130m which looking at the money league table mean we would go 12th above Milan athletico and Roma that is without the extra 30-40m from the stadium...

It's going to be a big couple of years with some big players coming

And someone mentions Austin for the 1000th time!! Ever stopped to think we just didn't fancy him??

Perfect time to be moving to the Olympic Stadium...there should be no FFP excuses thrown about when looking to sign new players

Re: Summer £20 million striker
£20m isn't a lot these days and certainly doesn't guarantee success. Look at Benteke at Liverpool.

It's more about finding the right striker to fit into the team. Be it £5m or £50m. I think our recruitment is far more solid now so the chances are we're looking at 2/3 strikers who could potentially fit in with the squad and the way we play.

I think they'll be looking to bring in a marquee signing as we move into the new stadium. It's just down to who that might be. I wonder if Ibrahimovic fancies a new challenge?!

Re: Summer £20 million striker
Liverpool players seem to freeze with the expectation put on them. I like that. I'd like it to continue forever.

Well he is leaving at the end of this season and has stated he wants a new challenge and people will be surprised with his decision.....he is yet to play in the prem!

Re: Summer £20 million striker
I love these kind of threads. Look at Benteke for Liverpool....£32.5 million....useless....

or

Look at Benteke for Aston Villa...£7million....blinding signing

Re: Summer £20 million striker
The price of a player is everything. If valencia cost like 1-2m i wouldnt be as dissappointed as i am with him i dont think

I'll take Batshuayi for £20 million. But hopefully we have more in the kitty too spunk.?

Re: Summer £20 million striker
The Benteke example works perfect.

Great signing for Villa because he fitted in their team and that prompted Liverpool to spend over £30m but it hasn't worked.

Re: Summer £20 million striker
To be honest, I can't think of many strikers who've moved from a premiership club to another and done the business in recent years.

I'd look abroad, get somebody like EMBOLO, LACAZETTE BATSHUIAAAYYYY or wheoever he is.

Re: Summer £20 million striker
I'd take benteke he would suit our style of play and I can't see him having a future with klopp

Re: Summer £20 million striker
I know that £20m has been mentioned but I think we will end up making a really big statement signing, probably costing quite a bit more than £20m.

Lets face it we don't need to add many in the summer and it won't be anything like last summer... we have RB sorted, so we just need a very decent DM to replace Song who unfortunately hasn't lived up to expectations, probably Tore for Moses and a striker.

Wouldn't be surprised if we try and get Bony but he will be £30m+

Re: Summer £20 million striker
I'd rather spend 20m on a striker this Summer than buy two 5-10m strikers in January and this Summer.

We need 1st team quality now. Short term fixes have to stop now, they just eat into the budget.

Bony, Lacazette, Aubameyang, whoever it is. That is the level for us now.

Let's not forget the last £30m plus striker we bought from them

Re: Summer £20 million striker
Nsd imo benteke is in a different league to Carroll he just doesn't suit the way klopp wants to play
And he has the bonus of not being made of glass

Re: Summer £20 million striker
Spending 20 mil doesn't necessarily equate to a great goalscoring striker, just look at AC! Lots of clubs have spent more and failed miserably also. Sakho has however done rather well for what 5 mil?
So it's an odd statement to make.... good news we have the funds however to pay that amount if required. Good news for agents who will also put up their 15 mil striker price tag to 20 for West Ham! 😉

I think the Daves can pull of another Ba. But this time we might be able to keep him.

I'd take Benteke...

Been disappointing at Liverpool but I rate him still...

Re: Summer £20 million striker
From players I already know a little of from English football, I'd say Bony would be great for us. Not sure if he'd be sold for £20m though...

Re: Summer £20 million striker
I don't see city selling bony he's clearly happy to play second fiddle to Aguero or he wouldn't of signed
